September 11 Memorial In New York
This past week, my daughter got to go to New York. The part that I think was the most impactful for her was seeing the 9/11 memorial. She wasn't even alive when it happened but she learned about it in school. No school class could have given her the knowledge that seeing the things that were there did! She got to see noted that the passengers left for their loved ones once they knew they were highjacked, while realizing that they would never see them again and that their lives were about to end. I can't imagine how scared those people were. She got to see a collection of shoes from people that were in the towers that went to run and literally, ran out of their shoes. There were pieces of the planes, buildings, and firetrucks. I think that seeing the huge list of names really got to her, especially when she saw one for an unborn child. These people did nothing to deserve this and yet, it happened. I am glad that memorials and tours are in place to be able to send a powerful message to the future generations. I am thankful for her being able to have this experience. I am attaching a link for you to see more about the memorial and museum. If you ever get the chance to visit New York, I hope you can get to see this. Here are some of the pictures she sent me.....
