Cinco de Mayo, a relatively obscure day in its origin country of Mexico but here in America it has evolved into a celebration of the Hispanic culture and a time to let loose a little. If you are looking for a nice day out, check out the 10th annual Cinco de Mayo Chihuahua Races down at Paws & Claws Animal Care, 2715 Maricopa Ave. Registration is free and anyone can watch. The race starts at 5pm and if you are looking to enter your own contestant, registration starts at 4:30pm. For more info click here. After all the excitement of the race you may want to get a bite to eat. Well good news! At Fiesta Mexicana (1621 McCulloch Blvd.) They have an all you can eat taco bar, live entertainment all day, and a free fried ice cream (with the purchase of 2 entrees). If you love authentic Mexican food, this is the place to go. To round off your day head to the beach! It is finally hot enough to head out and chill by the water with family or friends and watch our amazing sunsets. Have a great Cinco de Mayo everyone!
