An Inexpensive Way To Update Furniture And Homes
Have you ever heard the song by Miranda Lambert called 'The House That Built Me'? It's a country song about a girl going back to the home she grew up in and reminiscing about her childhood. At one point in the song the lyrics say 'Mama cut out pictures of houses for years, from Better Homes and Garden magazines. Plans were drawn, concrete poured, and nail by nail board by board, Daddy gave life to momma's dream.' I grew up in the country on a farm in Idaho. We had chickens and horses and llamas and well... you name it, at some point we probably had one or two. My mom would get those Better Homes & Gardens magazines and would get creative ideas and re-do furniture, create awesome mosaic backsplashs', and all around brought to life the originally built in 1908 home that I grew up in. It's beautiful now! She would put my dad to work on his 'Honey-do List' and things were forever changing around our place.
I guess I have tried here and there to get my creative juices flowing. So... a couple of months ago I picked up this dresser at a yard sale for $30 bucks. I used paint that I bought for super cheap from a garage sale too, so this hole project cost me about $35 dollars to complete! I love the finished product!
From cupboards to dressers to home decor, I think you can revitalize lots of things in your home with a couple layers of paint to give it new life!
