Annual Havasu Festivities
The London Bridge and English Channel are some of our biggest tourist attractions of Lake Havasu City. That is even more obvious during the holiday season with this year’s 22nd annual Festival of Lights. The day after Thanksgiving, the businesses in the English Channel come to life and glow with the holiday spirit. To kick off this event, a race across the channel will be held to see who gets the honor of flipping the switch to turn on the lights. The swim takes place on November 25 and starts at 6 in front of Shugrue’s Restaurant & Bardocks, located directly across the channel from London Bridge Resort. When the lights come on it is a sight to be seen. With all the businesses decorated with more than 500,000 lights. It brings people from all over around. These lights not only attract tourists, but they also attract one of the jolliest people, Santa! Every Friday and Saturday, Santa makes an appearance in Havasu to spread holiday joy to our small town. He will be around in the English village during 6-8 during this time. One of the best events to attend is the 35th annual Boat Parade of Lights. Lake Havasu City’s Boat Parade of Lights has been repeatedly selected as one of the top 100 events in the U.S. by the American Bus Association. More than 50 boats are brightly decorated and parade through the Channel during December 1st and 2nd at around 6:30. Come bundle up and experience the annual tradition of our town! Another annual event we have is the Ice Skating at the Bridge. Go down to the London Bridge Resort and rent a pair of skates and some have fun. Check the times here. These events are a blast and it is a time to create memories with your families.
