Amazing Places To Check Out Before It Gets Too Hot
Spring is in the air! The desert comes alive with wild flowers and blooming cacti. Let's enjoy the rest of the cooler weather before the pavement starts to melt. Here are a couple of places definitely worth checking out!
Oak Creek Canyon. Just south of Sedona. For those of us who enjoy meandering trails and gorgeous views. Woods Canyon Trail has it all.
You will hike along the red rocks that made Sedona famous. Fairly easy and less crowded than most trails. Wear your baseball hat and sunscreen there is not much shade. The trail ends at Dry Beaver Creek. This time of year you will find plenty of water flowing through the creek from the snow melt. Take your shoes off and step in. That water is COLD! About 4 miles in and 4 miles out.
Touche Colorado! Arizona has a hot spring! Head to Kingman! On the Arizona - Nevada Border this is a bit more difficult hike than our Sedona hike but well worth it. 6 miles round trip through some tricky landscape. You will come upon a ladder. Go ahead, climb up and Ta DAA! You made it! This water is HOT! Can get over 110 degrees. You will see evidence of the hot springs as you approach. Amazing and ohhhh so soothing.
Desert Bar Parker. South of Lake Havasu City you can find Nellie E Saloon . It is off road and in the middle of no where. Built on an old mining camp it is complete with burgers, beers and bands! Solar powered and cash only. Take this detour your friends will want to come with you next time.
Have fun out there! Enjoy the beautiful weather and Please remember to take out whatever you take in. If you are looking for more fun
